That was the most informative thing I have ever been told by a duck
And I have been told a lot of things by ducks.

You know, the one that gives housewives/full-time mothers a pension— wages for housework?
It’s ONLY A HUGE VICTORY FOR FEMINISM, SOCIALISM, AND WOMEN OF COLOR. Not a big deal or anything. Tumblr is mysteriously silent about this.

IF ONE MORE PERSON ASKS MY GIRLFRIEND AND I IF WE ARE SISTERS, I SWEAR TO GOD…
It’s moving time again. Here is just a small capture of the many things gay in my room. My boxes look like the gear of a traveling lesbian festival.
Yes, that is a signed copy of Imagine Me & You.
this is a picture of my mom, stepdad, girlfriend, and i. i wanted to share it because i want to show everyone what an accepting, happy family looks like.
my mother has always been fine with my being gay. she would always tell me “love is love, regardless of gender.” my stepdad, however, was not the same.
i didn’t speak to him for years as a teenager because his intolerance was so painful. he mocked me for being gay. i stood strong and followed my passions in lgbtq justice and civil rights. being a political man (in education reform) himself, my stepfather slowly began to admire my efficacy and activity in the community.
my stepfather is 110% accepting today. most days, when i visit the house without abbey, he sadly asks me why she isn’t there (i think he’d rather see HER than me most times). as many of you in ohio know, carla hale lost her teaching position at bishop watterson catholic school for being gay. yesterday my stepdad learned that all public school teachers (again, he works in education reform) (and as i informed him, ANY lgbtq individual with a job in the state of ohio & 33 other states) can lose their job simply based on sexual orientation/gender expression discrimination.
he told me this is his new cause.
i know it sounds cheesy… but really, people can and will surprise you. don’t give up hope. look at us. i never thought i’d see this day come.
